I was hanging out in Los Angeles six weeks ago and was invited to hike Runyon Canyon (thanks, Paul). In the past I had hiked in from the Mulholland Drive access, going straight down to the Hollywood side and then back up again.
This time we went up the Hollywood side and crossed over to the east trail before reaching Mulholland and made our way back down to the Hollywood entrance. I had never been on the east trail before and really enjoyed the views from there.
I love this next photograph. I only had my 50mm lens so when I looked down the canyon I could only see the spiral and a person wandering around. I shot it without knowing what I would get. So when I opened up the file today I was surprised to see the rocks at the bottom making the message, "God's Not Dead."
If you know what's going on down there, please let me know.
Meanwhile, the east trail has these stairs because it's very steep and they don't want people sliding into the canyon. FYI, these stairs are very tall and overall steeper than they look in this photo.
Runyon Canyon is a great hike. Also, dogs are welcome off leash. If you are in Los Angeles you check it out. And take pictures.
