Circumstances have arrived to a point where I have to come into the light and reveal myself in order to help a friend.
For the past five and a half years I have been helping two people who are physically and medically challenged. They live on the West Coast in an apartment I found for them and set up. I now call New York home but I am always a phone call or plane ride away if things get dicey.
I don't need to go into too much detail of what I do (you will see why soon) but you can think of me as a fixer. I do my best to fix their lives. The apartment, for example. Then team players such as caregivers and doctors. Navigating pretty much everything. From wherever I am.
Recently, things have been on the very dicey side so I've been staying with them for the past two and a half months. It's been more intense than ever before. So, it's come to the point where I have to reach out to the public, and therefore exposing issues they may have preferred to keep private. Fortunately, I was able to spin it as an educational piece that would enlighten people who don't understand what life is like for them and so many other people on this planet. That they are human beings, not just patients. The other side of the coin is things will go south and we'll all go down with the ship if I can't raise the money they need for the crisis they are immersed in now.
So, without further ado, here is a three and a half minute video I produced over the past ten days for an awareness and money raising campaign.
And this is the link to a Go Fund Me page where you can read all the details that are not explained in this short doc film. Yes, we are looking for donations but we are also looking for massive shares of the video in hopes of getting exposure in the media. Yes, 5, 10 or 20 bucks would be great but advocates and cheerleaders are just as important. Or maybe there's a film festival you know that might like to screen our little movie.
Thanks so much for clicking and watching the video. I know there are some difficult scenes to watch.
