The night before last I parked the car in the lot behind the apartment building where I am staying in Los Angeles. It wasn't that late...maybe around 9pm. I got out of the car, looked up in the sky and saw this...

...Orion. I hightailed it into the apartment, grabbed my camera and tripod. By the time I set up beside the car some thin clouds rolled in without covering the stars, making it so much more interesting than it would have been with twinkles on a black background. I think the clouds give it story and feeling.

Truth be told, I was happy to get any image at all, being that the only stars I've been used to shooting were on stages.
