May Day

Lots of excitement in Bushwick last night. Some ass-dude was tearing down the street, plowing through intersections, his car going airborne until he lost complete control...he ran into a massive wood telephone pole completely taking out and finally stopped when his car plowed into a road construction barrier.

Not sure why there were so many fireman and trucks - I am not complaining. The odd part was the number of police that showed up...zero!

Note the angled STOP sign on the right of the frame.

This is the same STOP sign on the right of this photograph, with the crashed car behind it.

This is the aftermath this morning. The hanging wood telephone pole with the fire alarm box in photograph above is now laying in the gutter.

I love the posters on the concrete pole with the faces, but what really makes it work for me is the third face... the girl in the car checking out the carnage.

Rear Window

I should shut up right now. Before I expose myself.

Too late.

It is a fact that I am curious, or maybe I should say fascinated by people - what makes them tick and how they feel. I am not interested in voyeurism as it is defined in some/most dictionaries but I do love to see how other people live. I like to see inside their homes to see how they live. Creepy, right? But I know that I'm not the only one. There may be a few people that are too busy watching themselves instead of being curious about other people. And I don't spy on them but if the drapes are open I'm looking in.

And very occasionally I will take a photograph in that vein. Here are two that I shot three years ago today in Brooklyn, NY.

This one is pretty tame...

This one is way more Rear Window...

Now you know my dirty little secret. How about you...do you look in people's windows?

Back to the beach--uh oh

I've been working on putting a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2016 post together since I photographed three of the five inductees. Here's proof of it, started yesterday.

Why haven't I finished it? Because I don't have a photograph on hand for one of the inductees. The negs are in storage. And then I have to do a bunch of scanning. Figure out which frame to pick. Scan that frame. Mess with it a little in my digital darkroom. So, if it's not tomorrow it will be Monday. For sure.

In the meantime, let's go back to the beach...No, wait a second. Let's find something with snow. Hold on...I found snow and a ghost. Here it is....
