Two Birthdays

In addition to St. Patrick's Day, I am celebrating the birthdays of two great musicians.

PAUL KANTNER
3/17/41 - 1/28/16

HOLLYWOOD FATS
3/17/54 - 12/8/86

I was hoping I might find a connection between Paul and Fats but no luck. So here's a different combo for Paul Kantner that only 3K have seen. Paul Kantner signing Wooden Ships (one of my fave songs) with Crosby, Stills and Nash in 1989.

I'm combo-ing Fats with Muddy Waters! He plays the red guitar on the left of the stage. At the time he would have only been 19 years old. Can you imagine playing with Muddy Waters when you're 19?

Pick up of my book, Everybody I Shot Is Dead, and silver gelatin prints of Paul Kantner (just released) and Hollywood Fats

HB Graham Nash!

For the celebration of Graham Nash's birthday, I unearthed this photo from the archives. Somewhere I have an 11 x 14in. mounted print of it that I used to show it around as part of my music portfolio. I just scanned the internegative (it was a slide) last night so it's really coming out of the closet for the first time.

I doubt he will see it but I'm even happier to show it to you and you and you on Graham's birthday. And look how happy he is for his birthday.

GRAHAM NASH

I love this video. He's so happy at the end. A very simple, yet beautiful song he wrote about an experience he had with Joni Mitchell when he lived with her in Laurel Canyon...
